Individual reviews coming soon.
I use all these apps or services so feel free to check them out by clicking the links (most of which have sign-up incentives)
Cashback Apps:
- Rakuten Ebates: Earn $10 when you join and spend $25.
- Dosh: You might get $5 for signing up, but I can’t tell. They do have an 80 cent cash back offer on all Ubers though!
- Ibotta: You might get something for signing up?
- Drop: Get $5 for signing up
- Freebird: Enter my promo code fc80a before taking your first ride to get $5 off your first two rides. This is great for Uber & Lyft cash back and cash back at restaurants and bars.
- Cash Direct Club (formerly Affinityy): Get a $20 welcome bonus. This tends to have pretty high cash back percentages (especially on purchases $99+) however you do need to reach $50 to cash out and cash back sometimes pends for a month or more. Better to wait and get a higher cash back percentage than to not though.
- Honey: This is a browser extension that searches for promo codes then applies the best one to your purchases (considering it’s a promo code you qualify for). You also earn points when you make purchases through Honey’s portal (I’ve found some great hotel deals on there). Highly recommend, I’ve saved a lot of money on online purchases thanks to this extension.
Banking & Investing:
- So-Fi Money: Get $25 once you fund your account with $100 or more. So-Fi checking accounts all earn high interest.
- So-Fi Invest: Open an Active Investing account with $1000 or more, and you’ll get $100 in stock. Buy and sell stocks (and part of stocks) with $0 in fees.
- Stash Invest: Get $5 for signing up. This is a super user-friendly app if you’re new to investing and just want to experiment with a few bucks here and there.
- Robinhood: Get a FREE stock for signing up, the value of that stock can be anywhere from $2.50 to $200. Robinhood is great for beginner investors too and it’s totally free to use, no commissions or none of that. You can also buy crypto here.
- Bumped: An app that gives you “stock-back” instead of cash-back. You select one company from each of the lists of categories as your “loyalty” stock and get a percentage of everything you spend in the form of that company’s stock. It’s a Portland based startup and a pretty cool idea to earn some extra stock.
Credit Cards:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred: I’m obsessed with this card. You also get 60,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points when you spend $4,000 on it in the first three months. Great credit card if you travel or dine out a lot. Annual Fee: $95
- Chase Freedom Unlimited: Earn $200 cash back after spending $500 in the first three months. Get 1.5% cash back (or 1.5 Ultimate Rewards Points) on every purchase. No Annual Fee.
- Chase United Explorer: Earn 40,000 bonus miles after you spend $2,000 in the first three months. No annual fee the first year, $95 after that. Free checked bags and other perks if you travel on United every so often.
- American Express Blue Cash Preferred: Earn $300 after spending $1,000 in the first three months. You get 6% cash back at grocery stores & on streaming services, 3% back at gas stations & on transit, 1% on everything else. Plus you get access to some sick Amex offers. Annual fee: $95
- Delta Platinum SkyMiles American Express: Earn 5,000 MQMs AND 75,000 bonus miles when you spend $3,000 in the first three months. If you also make a Delta purchase you’ll also get $100 statement credit. This really is a KILLER signup promotion- 75,000 miles can get you a one way ticket in Delta One (basically First Class) from the United States to Europe.
Cryptocurrency:
- Coinbase: Receive $10 worth of bitcoin when you buy or sell $100 or more of crypto.
- Coinbase Earn OXT: Earn up to $52 of OXT just by watching short 2-3 minute videos about what it is and how it works. It’s literally free money just for learning about cryptocurrencies- you can always convert OXT into USD to cash it out.
- Coinbase Earn EOS: Earn up to $50 of EOS just by watching videos about what it is and how it works.
- Coinbase Earn XLM: Earn up to $50 of Stellar Lumens (XLM) just by watching short videos and taking short quizzes.
Fitness Apps with Monetary Benefit:
- Achievement: Syncs with your health apps and you earn points for how many steps you take, filling out health questionnaires, or even tweeting health-related content. Once you reach 10,000 points you can cash out $10.
- Sweatcoin: Earn “sweatcoins” for the steps you take which you can then use to purchase various services, offers, and items such as Adidas Gift Cards or dinners at The Eiffel Tower.
